NBHA Director's Note![]() Tehachapi, CA TETWP Race May 15, 2010This is the next race I will be producing. Click here for entry form. This will be a 4D race and sooooooo much fun. Starting out with PeeWee Leadline. There will be lots of awesome awards in each class! Co-Sanctioning Should you or shouldn't you as a NBHA DirectorThe benefit of co-sanctioning with another organization would be for the most part benefiting the other organization. We all want a place for members to receive qualifications, points and award money while not having to put out any additional expenses. What is so wrong with that? Nothing, but, as a host, you are doing all the work, so ask yourself if you want the additional paper work before you decide to co-sanction. When you Co-sanction a race with a different organization the issues begin to arise as such; host organizations want to run their own rules and payout. Typically the Youth class is the one you have to worry about. An agreement should be made with each organization that you have to be a member of either organization to run. Say for example you would have to be a member of either or NBHA/AW and not just AW (forcing members to pay a membership fee just because it is a co-sanctioned race. This is not acceptable nor is making a member pay a non membership fee for either organization), only the members of their own association will receive points. You can run both organizations together in one race keeping track of each membership for point reasons. Carrying Over of times from the Open to other classes is allowed but as you know has to be declared before the Open begins (the first runner out). NBHA Rule B.: Organizations need to allow the Youth age group when co-sanctioning with NBHA to run in the Youth Class with points of the other group's, say Youth 15 years of age getting their points in AW and NBHA Youth 18 years of age getting their points. This is acceptable with most organizations as long as it is posted at the show as such and on the entry form. You as Directors will have to discuss it with the members, some love it some hate it and Directors will have to take the brunt of the ones who hate it. Payouts.......if it is another organization who is the host then they will use their payout as long as the payout is fair. Again, it needs to be on the entry form and posted at the race as to how the show will be paid out. If the NBHA members are paying their own entry fee then the NBHA payout must be according to NBHA payout guidelines. I personally like the thought of co-sanctioning, but it can get hectic at times. More to come! Please email me your thoughts on co-sanctioning. ![]() Now a Word from the Christian corner of my heart:I am Forgiven Can I remind you today of what God’s Word says about His forgiveness? I have prayed that as you read these Scriptures that the hope of God’s mercy will wash over your life. No matter what your relationship with God is like right now, you need His forgiveness. You need relief from the weight of guilt. You need to come to Him for the first or millionth time. Soak in what Scripture says about you and God, and what He would like to do, if you would choose: The fact of God’s forgiveness. Psalm 86:5, “For you, Lord, are good and ready to forgive, abundant in loving kindness to all who call upon you.” Micah 7:18, “Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, who does not retain His anger forever but delights in unchanging love.” The extent of God’s forgiveness. Psalm 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so far he has removed our transgressions from us.” Micah 7:19, “He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.” The blessing of forgiveness. Psalm 32:1, “How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” When you think of the number of people on the broad road carrying their sin with them, and the few on the narrow road who find the forgiveness of their sins in God. How eternally blessed is the one whose sins are covered, who can say, I’m forgiven by God.
